Hiking and Boating, October 2010

Dan prepares the boat to put into the Chesapeake Bay
at Sandy Point State Park

Off we go!

Thea in the first mate's chair

It was fun cruising UNDER the Bay Bridge as opposed to
driving over it.

Sandy Point beach -- too chilly for swimming unfortunately.

Holly disturbed for one reason or another

Dan loving having his boat out, in October no less!

After getting out of the water we frolic on the beach for a bit.

Flip-flops in mid-October... this is the life.

Enjoying a hike on Mom's birthday at Patapsco
Valley State Park

Holly does not completely trust the
swinging bridge

Holly follows Thea and Faith up a hill
towards the train tracks

Faith and Thea -- is this the wrong side of the
tracks or the right?

Exploring the tunnel under the train tracks

Faith and Holly jump back and forth across
a small stream

Having a break on a beautiful fall day

Dan, Faith, Thea and Holly

Successfully reached the bridge at the other end of
this portion of the park

Becky, Holly, Faith and Thea down by the Patapsco River

Lofty Thea

Faith ducking under a fallen tree

Girls playing on a large flat rock

Faith tries to slide down but gets stuck

Holly enjoying the sunny day

Becky, Holly, Faith and Thea out again on the boat, anchored
at Hart-Miller Island

It's a warm day, but Faith announces the water is way
too cold to swim

Unfortunately Thea drops one of the pool noodles overboard so
she has to go retrieve it...

Yep -- water is too cold for swimming

Dan provides Thea with a towel after her
unplanned swim

Drying off, Thea curls up to read a book

Another nice and smooth day on the water.
