- The First Wives Club by Olivia Goldsmith
It was OK. I thought it lost momentum as it neared the end, when it should have been gaining.
- lThe Last Suppers by Diane Mott Davidson ink
I liked the premise, but this gimmicky murder mystery never rose above ho-hum.
- Sisterchicks Down Under by Robin Jones Gunn
I think the author used writing this novel as an excuse to take a trip to New Zealand and Australia. The "wacky" situations the heroine found herself in weren't that funny -- guess you had to be there.
- Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen
This was a very gritty and unflinching picture of both life in the circus and life during the Great Depression. It was not always pleasant to read, but I had to know what happened, and I was very satisfied by the end.
- Q Road by Bonnie Jo Campbell
I wondered for a long time why the story wasn't getting going, and then I realized that it was because it wasn't going anywhere. More a series of character studies than anything else.
- Ghostwalk by Rebecca Stott
It was alright. I wish I had been more wowed, but it seemed vague all along and then dropped all the shells at the end, which didn't really work for me.
