In Memory of
Monkey
1994-2005
Monkey was born on April 29, 1994, just a few months before Rick and Becky were married. We named him Monkey because he was the first to climb out of the cardboard box where he spent his infancy. Along with his brothers Spot and Stripe, he lived with us from birth.
On Monkey's forehead was the distinctive "M" mark of the tabby cat. His fur was orange except for a curious black patch on his belly, and his whiskers were orange except for one or two that grew in black. With his triangular face, small frame, and perfected pathetic expressions, he was always thought of as a kitten, even as he grew older.
Monkey was a homebody -- he loved his family and didn't care much for strangers. In the evenings when the house was quiet he'd come out and curl up on the couch or climb into bed and under the covers. You always had to watch out for your toes if Monkey was under the sheets.
We'll miss you, Small Fry.
